Already at an early age it was clear that sailing was the sport for the lad from Motala, Björn. At the age of six, his father Tomas put him in a optimist-dinghy for the first time, sure the young boy would soon return. An hour later Tomas had to find a boat to go and pick Björn up. Björn was aiming at the horizon.
After juniorhigh and the years in optimist, Björn was admitted to the National Highschool of Sailing, were he could combine studies with sailing and move on from the junior classes to the Olympic classes in sailing.
Björn took the step to the Finnclass in 2006 and is today representing the Gothenburg Royal Yacht Club (GKSS) and a member of the Swedish National Sailing Team, as one of the hopes for the next 2012 Olympics.
The target in sight: Winning a medal at the Olympic Games in 2012.
